The State has excellent connectivity by all modes of transport – a total road length of 2,38,773.02 km. (road density of 548 km per 100 sq. km, roughly three times the national average), 2,087 km long railway track, 4 International Airports, 2 major Seaports and 17 minor ports, Metro Rail, 1,700 km of inland waterways and Water Metro. One of the busiest International Container Transshipment Terminals (ICTT) of the country is located in Kochi.
Besides, several infrastructure projects like the Vizhinjam International Seaport, Sabarimala International Airport, Light Metro Rail projects, etc. are also in progress.
